Cinnamon Rolls III Recipe
Here's an easy alternative to buying those famous cinnamon rolls in the mall. They taste exactly the same, and the dough is made in the bread machine.
I make these the night before and bake them in the morning. My family and friends can't stay out of them. They are very moist and decadently rich.
Save yourself a lot of money by making your own homemade cinnamon rolls! The dough is made in the bread machine and everything else is done by hand.
I don't know what happened, but these turned out very heavy for me. The rolls were almost glue-y and the cinnamon mixture hardened way too much. I've made the 'Clone of a Cinnabon' many times and thought I'd try this one (I liked the idea of the vanilla pudding mix lightening the dough a bit) but it seems I'll go back to that recipe now. Don't get me wrong, even a 'bad' cinnamon roll is still a cinnamon roll....so we will certainly finish these! ;-) There's just not the level of enjoyment as with the 'Clone' version. I'm sorry, I wish I could be more positive about this!
I hate to give these cinnamon rolls a 4, because the rolls are GREAT, but our family thought the cream cheese taste in the frosting was too strong. If you prefer a sweeter frosting, this is our family favorite....1 stick butter, 1 egg yolk, 2 cups powdered sugar, 1 tbs vanilla, and a little milk if too thick. I will definitely use this cinnamon roll recipe again!!
This recipe was so easy and super yummy! I've tried the Clone of Cinnabon and The buttermilk cinnamon roll recipes on this site. This one is by far the best! I did add a whole package of vanilla pudding mix like others suggested. I also made this recipe in my Kitchen Aide mixer I don't have a bread machine. I also double the cinnamon mixture. Super yummy!
The BEST cinnamon rolls ever. Have made these twice now. First time, exactly as called for. Rolls were a little on the thick/dense side and not as gooey and sweet as the mall rolls, but fantastic! Second time, I made mini cinnamon rolls by rolling the dough thinner to yield two batches. I doubled the cinnamon/pecan mixture and doubled the cream cheese topping (one full portion of each for each half of the dough). The end result was twice as many, but smaller, rolls with tons of cinnamon and pecans. REALLY REALLY good!!
Wow!! Best cinnamon rolls I've ever had. The only thing I do differently to the dough is to add the entire box of pudding so that there is no waste. I use the icing from the "Clone of a Cinnabon" recipe on this site. I don't think there's any way a cinnamon roll could be better than this one!!
